Cookie Policy.
Effective date: June 4, 2026. This page explains how cookies and local storage may be used on The Vascular Brain.
What cookies are.
Cookies are small files placed on a browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that can remember preferences on the same device. This site uses these technologies sparingly.
Categories used on this site.
Essential and preference storage. Used to remember a cookie choice, support the mobile menu, and maintain ordinary site behavior.
Analytics. If privacy-respecting analytics are added, they will be used to understand which pages are read and to improve the site. The site does not use analytics as a medical record or clinical tracking system.
Advertising. Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies on content pages after approval. The AdSense tag is configured to request non-personalized ads by default and to pause ad requests until a visitor accepts ad-related cookies.
Google AdSense cookies.
Google may use cookies to serve ads on partner websites, measure performance, limit how often the same ad is shown, and help prevent fraud. Non-personalized ads are based primarily on contextual information, but they may still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and abuse prevention.
You can review Google's explanation of advertising cookies at Google Advertising and manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.
Browser controls.
Most browsers let you delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear local storage. Blocking cookies may affect some site preferences and advertising features.
European regulations.
For traffic from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google requires publishers using AdSense to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The site-level banner here is a preference layer; the AdSense account should also enable Google's Privacy & messaging / certified CMP flow before broad ad serving.
